About Alyssa Kok

Alyssa Kok is a Singaporean classical pianist whose interpretations are distinguished by a vivid sense of musical narration, radiating vitality and emotional authenticity while reflecting poetic sensitivity, artistic maturity, and a refined tonal palette. Her artistry spans a wide repertoire from the Baroque to the 20th century, characterized by expressive clarity and structural awareness.

Her international presence began at the age of 11 with her debut at Carnegie Hall (Weill) in New York City. The performance was supported by the Singapore International Foundation, through which she became its youngest Cultural Ambassador scholarship recipient.

Since then, she has performed across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia, and New Zealand. Her touring experience includes a Canadian recital tour comprising eight solo performances, and repeated performances in China, Italy, Singapore, the Middle East, Poland and New Zealand. Fluent in multiple languages, she values meaningful artistic exchange and cross-cultural collaboration, bringing a communicative and nuanced presence to her performances.

She is a prizewinning pianist and recipient of the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize in Italy. She is also winner of the Altalena Music Festival Concerto Competition in Hungary and the Master Orchester Concerto Competition in Italy, and has been awarded top prizes at more than 30 international piano competitions across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

She has performed on multiple occasions with the Toruń Symphony Orchestra in Poland and the Master Orchestra in Italy, with the Sándor Végh Institute Chamber Orchestra in Austria, Altalena Chamber Ensemble in Hungary, Shenzhen Symphony Festival Orchestra in China and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists in Austria. Her collaboration with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists was featured in the Mozarteum University Salzburg DVD production Wir Wunderkinder.

The music of Fryderyk Chopin occupies an important place in her repertoire and has featured in her recitals across Singapore, New Zealand, and Italy. Notable performances include the all-Chopin recital Alyssa Kok Plays Chopin, presented for the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Association in Singapore, as well as Alyssa Kok suona Chopin, an all-Chopin recital performed on fortepiano in Italy.

Alyssa Kok’s performances and interviews have been featured in major media outlets across Singapore and Europe, including multiple times in The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, as well as broadcasts and publications in Austria, Poland, Canada and Italy.

Alyssa Kok studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she entered the Leopold Mozart Institute for Highly Talented Students at the age of 12 and was admitted to the Bachelor’s degree programme at 14, graduating with distinction at 18. She later continued her studies at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, where she was also enrolled in the Młoda Muzyczna Akademia young talent programme for Polish students and completed her Master’s degree with distinction at the age of 20.

Alongside piano, she studied harpsichord and clavichord for six years at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, broadening her artistic perspective on Baroque and early Classical repertoire. She also performed and competed with piano trio ensembles, receiving multiple chamber music prizes. Her experience singing in Austrian choirs has further shaped her musical sensitivity, phrasing and vocal line.

Deeply committed to sharing music to make the world a better place, Alyssa regularly initiates and performs in charity concerts. Her sold-out benefit recitals have supported children, young women, and the elderly, reflecting her belief that music carries both artistic and humanitarian purpose.

Her teachers have included Philippe Giusiano, Wojciech Świtała, Gereon Kleiner, Rolf Plagge, Andreas Weber in Europe, and Benjamin Loh, Roxana Tang, and Monica Tong in Singapore. She attained the ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano with distinction at the age of 10 and the ATCL Diploma with distinction at 11. Her artistic development has further been enriched through masterclasses with distinguished musicians including Dmitri Alexeev, Bernd Goetzke, Andrzej Jasiński, Jan Jiráček von Arnim, Piotr Paleczny, Ewa Pobłocka, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, and Pascal Rogé, among others. She has also collaborated with conductors including Sergio Baietta, Jakub Chrenowicz, Przemysław Fiugajski, Lavard Skou Larsen, Noah Max, Yongze Kang and Wolfgang Redik.
