🎵 CONCERT | The Romantic Piano Virtuoso – Solo Piano Recital by Alyssa Kok | Presented by Concerto Cadenza
Tuesday, 11 August 2026, 7:30 pm | Esplanade Recital Studio, Singapore
Step into the world of piano music of the 19th century with The Romantic Piano Virtuoso, a solo piano recital featuring young Singaporean classical pianist Alyssa Kok.
The evening recital showcases four major piano works by composers Fryderyk Chopin (1810-1849) and Franz Liszt (1811-1886), two of the most important personalities of the Romantic Era. Spanning different genres, lengths and periods of composition, the piano pieces display sheer technical brilliance, authentic Romantic spirit and ethereal philosophical depth. In addition, the programme juxtaposes a duality of physical prowess and imaginative interpretation. Throughout the recital, one will catch a glimpse of the Polish composer Chopin’s youthful, energetic compositional style of his Warsaw period, followed by his fully mature and metaphysical last style in his final years. One will also hear a potpourri of ideas of the Hungarian virtuoso pianist and composer Franz Liszt, expanding a theme by legendary violinist Niccolò Paganini into an etude, and experimenting on various dance themes from his journey to Spain. The multicultural background of the repertoire extends from Poland and Hungary to Italy, France, Austria, and Spain.
Each piece will be introduced and performed by pianist Alyssa Kok, a young graduate from Europe with extensive training for over a decade with renowned pianists and professors of the region. A prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, Alyssa Kok has staged piano recitals on several continents including Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania. With the mission of sharing music with audiences worldwide to make the world a better place, Alyssa Kok hopes to bring inspiration and light through her pianistic performance to all who will be present.
